Well named, Crocus ‘Jeanne d’Arc’ is a superb crocus. White goblets which open to revel frilly orange stamens. The stem to throat of the flowers are streaked with purple water colour marking as if the root is drinking purple liquid. The perfect back drop for the lovely mauve tone of Crocus tommasinianus ‘Barr’s Purple’, whose grass like leaves produce a silvery grey stripe. ‘Barrs Purple‘ produce six petalled flowers in a rich amethyst-violet hue.
