The former has charming bronze stems with buds that reveal an upward facing show of stars. Pale pink-mauve petalled flowers with whiter centres, they look wonderful combined with the Alba variety. Charming mass planted and naturalised under deciduous trees, rock gardens, gravel gardens near small early flowering crocus, species tulips and Galanthus (snowdrops).
