A bright rich yellow flower which work so beautifully against the low light levels in early march . Productive as it produces up to five flowers per corn.
Crocus should be grown in well-drained soil (ideally alkaline) on a site which has enough sun during a dry period to bake the corms/bulbs; this is the secret to a good show of flowers. Great for naturalizing
Pollinator value: One of the earliest nectar rich flowers in Spring, emerging Queen Bumblebees seek out these flowers
Our Tip: The sparrow birds seem to love the brightness of these yellow crocus so best to use white, blue or purple crocus if sparrows are resident in your garden.
Plant in Autumn 5-8cm deep 5-8cm apart in direct sunlight and well drained soil.
