Allium cristophii

Allium cristophii

from £7.95

Grown & Certified 100% Organic

The native range of these beauties spreads from Central Anatolia to north, east and central Iran. They were first introduced into cultivation by a Dutch firm in 1903.

The soft mauve flowers can reach up to 25cm across with delicate six-pointed star petals arranged around a lime green jewel like centre. Up to one hundred flowers per head, the overall effect resembles a lacey geodesic dome.

In the garden Allium Christophii favour hot dry spots with well-drained soil. Avoid drip irrigation systems as bulbs are likely to rot if they become too wet.

Bulbs can also be planted outside in pots. Combined and complimented with helichrysum whose grey foliage covers the alliums own leaves when they start to die back or also look great with lime-green alchemilla.

Plant 10-15cm deep and 30cm apart

Height: 60cm Flowering time: June

PLEASE NOTE BULBS WILL BE SHIPPED FROM OCTOBER 24
